The International Multidisciplinary Association for Behavioural & Expression Analysis (IMEXA) is an independent, international professional body dedicated to advancing the science, practice, and ethical application of behavioural and expression analysis.
IMEXA brings together practitioners, educators, and researchers across multiple disciplines—including Micro Expression Analysis, Nonverbal Communication, Behavioural Profiling, Cross Cultural Etiquette, Life Coaching and related fields—under a unified global framework.

IMEXA’s mandate is to standardize, advance, and oversee professional practice in behavioural and expression analysis on a global scale.
IMEXA fulfils its global mandate through a structured and integrated framework designed to ensure professional consistency, ethical accountability, and international credibility across all disciplines and regions.
This mandate is executed through:
- The development and publication of professional standards Establishing clear, evidence-informed benchmarks for practice across all recognized disciplines within behavioural and expression analysis.
- The certification of practitioners against defined competency frameworks Assessing and recognizing individuals who meet IMEXA’s requirements for knowledge, applied skill, professional judgment, and ethical conduct.
- The accreditation of training providers and educational programmes Approving institutions and programmes that meet IMEXA’s standards for curriculum quality, instructional delivery, and competency-based education.
- The enforcement of ethical and professional conduct Implementing a formal code of ethics, supported by structured disciplinary processes to address misconduct and uphold professional integrity.
- The maintenance of an international register of certified professionals Providing a publicly accessible system for verifying certification status, ensuring transparency and trust in IMEXA-recognised practitioners.
